Not a good weekend elsewhere.

While I was having a good weekend here, apparently it was not a good weekend elsewhere. On Friday, N's grandmother's dog was bitten by a rattlesnake in the yard. They didn't know at the time that it was a rattlesnake, but by Saturday morning, he had passed. It's really terrible because he was such a big sweet dog. I've never seen a larger dog but even at 250 pounds he was as gentle at my 25 pound beagle.

My high school soccer coach had a St. Bernard that was pretty much a bump on the earth that just wanted to be loved on. He liked to stick his head out of the car window. The soccer fields we played on were at the back of the park and there was a long, curvey road to get back to them. One day Oliver was riding with his head out as usual and fell out of the window at 10 mph because of the shift in all of his weight when they went around the curve. No injurys to report.
